My writing room

One of my favourite bloggers, Tara at the Bodacious Pen, did a post a couple of days ago about her writing room, graciously letting us into her life and her home (nice lass!)

Now this is something I have been chatting with my other Bestie, writer and blogger friend Amber at the Writing Ant, where do you write? We all have our place. Or places in my case. I write everywhere, but do have a few favourite spots. My writing zone tends to include either coffee or wine, chocolate, and my ipod. What do you HAVE TO HAVE to write? A special pen (aka Amber)?  Music blaring or complete silence? What is your thing?

This isn't going to be a long post, (firstly my internet is sucky but I wanted to say 'hi' and secondly I'm hungry hehe) I just thought I'd follow Tara's lead and let you into my writing room, and please share your own! :)

Last night my writing room looked like this:

This morning it looked like this:

While writing my whole first draft longhand it looked like this:

Well, that's the chair I sat in anyway, it is directly behind the above photo.
And finally, my writing room at this very moment looks like this:

Yes it's a little dark now, so heading back into the very top room. Plus it's warm in there, and I have a couch for napping.

Thanks for coming over! Drop by anytime!

Where do you like to write?

  2. I have several spots, but none are as picturesque as yours! All I really need is the laptop. Peace & Quiet is nice, as is an ice cold Diet Coke (preferrably the kind that never goes empty)

  3. Love that last photo, it looks pretty even at dusk! The battery life on my laptop is pretty bad, I get an hour if I'm lucky. So I do move about the house occasionally when I'm working, but I find that I'm most productive at my desk.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Your writing areas are so beautiful!! I definitely relate to the coffee/chocolate part :) I work the best at a desk; I try to write in bed, but for some reason, become very sluggish.

  5. thanks for sharing guys! I do try and write at a desk from time to time (like the top picture) but i find a desk makes me feel like im at work (accounts clerk, blech) which totally cuts off my creative flow. Sitting out on the backdeck just relaxes me and screams possibilities. The glaring sun can annoy the hell out of me but otherwise I love it.

yes if im in bed, i tend to watch a movie or fall asleep :)
