Favourite words of mine

Does anyone else have a quote that just seems to be yours? Like it fit a time in your life, a person in your life or somehow symbolises you in some way. One that is for you?

One that when people talk about favourite quotes, lines from movies or songs, this is the first one that comes to your mind every time and some people haven't even heard it before?

Well I'd like to share mine. And I'd LOVE to hear all yours.

"You can take away all of my rights to see the day, but you can't take away my love for the day."

Lines from song "Fast times at drop-out high" by the Ataris.

The Ataris are a indie/alternative/kinda-punk-ish band from the nineties who I fell in love with in high school and that love has never faded.

Most people I know haven't really heard about these guys (sorry!) and the passion is something I enjoy on my own. It's my car CD, you know- the one you sing crazily to while in the car on your own.

This line has always stuck with me.

This line has so many metaphorical meanings for me, and I think will always be etched in my heart.
It symbolises love, loss, hope, lust, desire and dreams.

Why? Well that's a post for another time...

I hope you enjoyed it.

Please share with me the few little words that strike a chord with you.

  1. Yay, new post! :)

Lovely quote, Ali dear. :) I, too, have a quote that springs to mind regularly, and one I hold close to my heart.

"There is nothing perfect. There is only life."
    - August Boatwright, from the novel 'The Secret Life of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd.

  2. That is a great quote and reminds me of a scene in Shawshank Redemption where he's put in solitary confinement for blasting the opera singer over the intercom and he says he heard her voice in his head to keep him company.
